need help, new to forum, received ticket in may, on a sunny sunday afternoon on 95, i was heading home to ma. I never saw the trooper, all i know i was traveling with the pack in the far left lane, when the st came behind me and hit me with her flashing lights to pull over, she said iwas doing 86 mph, i didnot say anything, and gave her my lisence and reg.Me and my wife figured a warning and we'd be on our way, when she came back and started writing the ticket i almost went into shock,(i have a pretty good record 1 ticket in 35 yrs). I propably was a little sarcastic when she started writing, I asked her if she was going to ticket everyone else that was traveling around me.My mistake, she kept telling my wife i could appeal the ticket, which i did, have court date Sept. 18,she said she used radar to clock me also said iwas in medium traffic, my question is how could i be doing almost 90 mphin madium traffic with out going in and out of lanes? and how fast was the st going to catchup with me, with out her lights flashing.I believe iwas well under 86 as i never drive that fast.

Reason: add
You'll have to have some court savvy to contest a ticket, but there is info you can request.
Mail in your ticket certified mail by the date written upon it.
Then you'll get a court date, which I "change" by motion to ask for public info about what was used (type of radar) etc.........

I rent LIDAR and radar, even w/ speed signs!
LTI Marksman AND Ultralyte 200LR, Stalker LIDAR, Kustom Pro Laser II, Pro Laser III, Laser Atlanta Advantage (R-style) and 6 Doppler's.
I'd read some of the MA posts, but keep in mind NH is a one shot court appearance, so I motion for records first and early as the clock starts after I try and get as many continuances as possible.
Judges like law references, so take the RSA statute and break down its elements......
I use certifications etc.
Only Concord does them afaik.
lots of agencies in NH, but the NH SP usually have some records.
Keep in mind their tests are static, no moving traffic, done in a lab probably in fornt of a "radio" speaker..............
Focus on your situation and moving vs stationary vs on coming radar use etc.......
You can ask for her notes prior to court in a motion filed at least 12 days before court. I send everything certified mail to the clerk of court.

Last week i received a contnuance date of Oct. 23, today i received another court date of Nov. 20, along with the notice of the new date was a notice to see if i wanted to talk to the prosecutor or the ST, to discuss the facts of the case or negotiate a settlement. should i call and, if i do what should i try to negotiate for?
I'd change the date again. <<EDIT: HAve you "asked" for any info about the LIDAR and certifications? >>>
In the past I did something that I think helped my case.
I can tell you about it, but you should really know about LIDARs if you go this route.
I wouldn't tip them off by meeting with the prosecutor.
<<EDIT: IME: they intercept you before trial anyways....... >>>
You can do whatever you want to.
