Need help! Got a LIDAR speeding ticket in Chicago

She "says" she clocked me @ 61mph in a 40mph zone on the Lake Shore Drive @ 205ft. I need help beating this, it was no way I did 61mph all due to the fact my gf asked me why was I driving so slow she has to go to the restroom lol. Its a known trap stretch and I've been driving the LSD for 12yrs and never gotten a ticket until now....PLEASE HELP

Thanks Cell, OH not to mention she got me in her side mirror i believe! How else can u beam someones car @ 204ft WHILE face the same direction coming up behind you. lol WTF. Not like she was leaning out the window either...These LSD cops are ****ing idiots

I just banged out some Stalker tests doing this (rear view mirror thing)
2-300 feet was pretty standard range on shots BEHIND the cruiser.

It seems to work.
Not pretty accurate IMHO, but I get a reading consistant with traffic flow.

They fix all the potholes on LSD?

Suf I think she used the ProLaser III is the standard LIDAR they use? i dont want to go to court with the wrong LIDAR facts and info and look like an ass...Yea they fixed some of the potholes.

GOD no. the potholes are all still there on N lake shore. it's terrible with concrete road patched up with asphalt. S lake shore got all the improvements with fresh concrete.

most of the LEOs will shoot thru the side mirrors at traffic coming from behind, but i have seen them parked on the shoulders parked perpendicular to traffic shooting out the driver window.

Chicago and Illinois LEOs use the PL3.

DEFINITELY bring up the point that they were shooting thru the side mirrors in court. it doesn't say anywhere in the user manual that it is an accepted use.

Actually the better way is to asked the LEO to show the court where in the manual does it say that bouncing off the mirror is acceptable. When she says she can not find it or that she has no idea then you ask her if she always operated equipment against standard operating procedures. This way you do not have to prove it was used incorrectly she now has to prove she did in fact use it properly. it puts the burden back on the LEO.

As previously learned on this board BE SPECIFIC. Everyone is throwing around the 'mirror' word. Be sure to specify either "side/door mounted rear view mirror" or "windshield/windscreen mounted rear view mirror".

I am already confused as to which mirror you got hit off of.

Do what Maestro says, make sure THEY prove YOU guilty. I know the whole RADAR vs. RVM mirror thing did sorta pan out, but its still not legal. Ask her, also, why the heck WASN'T she doing it the 'approved' way? Was she trying to hide or something?
