sililar $hite here modelled on the same system
in the UK its 3 points per speeding fine and a £60 sterling fine. get 12 points (i dont know the time frame there sorry
) and youre banned from driving (dont know how long for)
in Ireland, you get 2 points per offence and an 80 euro fine. if you contest this and lose, the points double and the fine goes up to a max of 800 euros
AFAIK. guilty until proven innocent
if you clock up 12 points in 3 years here, you get a 6 month driving ban also but the more points on your licence, the higher your insurance premium. however most companies dont load you for having 2 points but if youre over that they will.

pretty much sums it all up mate. you can defend yourself if accused of murder here but try to get away with a speeding case and theyll hunt you down like nobodys business
if it were all about road safety like they claim, there would be no need for fines anyway. id be more concerned with the insurance costs and the possible ban myself. im just glad i got my countermeasures in time for this years laserfest here
