Hey everybody hows it going, I am new here and I am glad I found this site. I am in the market for a radar detector. This would be my first radar detector. So I wanted to know which is a good detector to start of with. My main driving would be suburban driving. From what I know and found out from the the speed trap thread is.......Golden Eagle and Decatur Genesis is used in IL. I belive these are ka band right. Oh and if you are wondering my budget it would be around $200-300

The guns you have listed above will either be K band or 35.5Ka band. The X50 will perform as well or better than anything else in that price range against both frequencies.
