hey everyone, my name is Chris and I am currently 18 in high-school. I just got a new car, well 300m special, and I am currently looking to purchase a radar detector, possibly v1 or 9500xi.
I drive mainly city-suburbs, and I hear the v1 is quite annoying and 9500xi is a lot quieter, but I plan on driving more highway since I can actually go 70mph now without the car falling apart. Also I'm still learning about the A mode and Big L and little L / pop feature.. a little mind-boggling but..

For the City the 9500ix is great!

For the Highway i would go with the V1.

Both are great detectors but the decision all depends on the features you want

For the City the 9500ix is great!

Welcome to the forum. Don't see alot MI people. I'm from MI too and learned alot from the forum. Also, remember during summer time LEO mainly use lidar. So also think about laser jammer. If you have any questions there are alot of people here to help.
