I've been using the fourm for several weeks and thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm currently running two ESCORT products, a 8500 X50 and a 9500ix. Both are hardwired since I don't like cords draped over my dash.
I've owned detectors since they first were made and I'm still an avid user.
The implementation of GPS into the detectors has been a huge step forward in detection capabilities in my opinion.
Over the years, what I've found most important in a detector for me is not its ability to detect radar as far away as possible, but rather to filter out as many false signals as it can. The way I look at it is that I don't want to be notified by my RD of anything that is not going to be a threat, and I don't want to be notified until I need to take action. Otherwise, I just want to concentrate on driving and listening to music.
Hope you all find the forum as informative as I have, there is a lot of user experience posted here and it's a great site to exchange tips.
