Hi,
New member here, but long time detector user. Hope to learn a lot here and maybe even contribute a little...
Anybody know why there is a 15 post requirement before you can see images or links?
Just curious...
Thanks!

Welcome aboard! The 15 post limit is believed to be because a LEO was clocking the boards. The limit doesn't stop this kind of thing but adds a small obstacle to it. This is amusing to me since this board was actually recommended to me by a LEO that lurked here.
How close to Houston are you?

I'm in Corpus Christi, just over 200 miles down the coast from Houston.
As for the post limit... I guess I can understand it, just never have run into it on a web board before. 15 posts seems a bit high, especially when it would seem to be a forum's purpose is to share information. Might make it a bit hard on a real newbie to detectors and web boards to get enough posts in there so they could see the links and pics.
But, hey...
I'm not trying to cause any waves. Not at all. Just an observation.
Thanks!

Hold on, and please bear with me for a moment...
The board is requiring me to make another post before it will allow me to post the links below.
Strange.
Thanks!

Thank you.
But one important point... The Confederate Air Force is no longer located down in the Rio Grande Valley (150 miles south of me). In fact, it's not even called the "Confederate Air Force" any longer - but instead, the "Commemorative Air Force" - and it's primary location is now in Midland, TX.
Here's the link to their web site:
-= COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE =-
And an interesting interpretation of the name change:
Confederate Air Force, RIP by Brian Dunaway
Hope this helps!

^^ Neat! Thanks for the info.

No problem.
I will say you will not be disappointed in visiting the Commemorative Air Force if it is still anything like it was when it was the Confederate AF down in the Rio Grande Valley. Just remember to allocate a ton more time to tour the Warbirds than you might originally think. Once you get to looking at those wonderful old airplanes you just want to spend hours and hours gazing at 'em.
Definitely fascinating, soul stirring stuff...
Enjoy!

Years ago as a young kid I met a client of my Dad's who flew B-17's during WWII. And my uncle was a navigator on a B-29 during WWII. These two probably are my favorite warbirds.
