Hello to everyone on the forum! I'm a brand new member and am glad to join such an active community. I know absolutely nothing about radar technology or speed cameras, but I look forward to learning...because I freaking NEED TO. I'm too broke! Worse yet, recently MANY MANY speed cameras have popped up on all my local expressways, namely I-294 and I-94.

I received two red light camera photos in the last month and am now trying to educate myself on ways to not be monetarily raped by the idiots that run the show in my home state of Illinois. These jackass politicians really are something special, from our ex-governors that end up in prison or try to get on reality television to our local state reps that REFUSE to balance a budget. God bless the hot mess that is Chicago!

Welcome to the forum. Check out Radarbusters.com for solutions to your redlight camera problems. Also, do you do most of your driving on the highway on in the city?

I usually drive on the expressways, but at night I tend to be driving around local streets in the city. So they basically get me every chance they get. Red light cameras, parking tickets, and possibly in the future....speed camera tickets.

If you also need a radar detector to go with your camera protection, the Escort 9500ix, or Bel GX65 should take care of both.

If you are in Chicago, you need a laser jammer. A RD is close to pointless because law enforcement uses laser to work dense traffic in the Chicago Metro Area. My recommendation. Blinder M27 ($480) and an Escort 9500ix.

I recently got flashed by a RLC in Chicago a couple weeks ago. Don't know if a ticket is in the mail.
