I have been activiely involved watching this issue in Maryland for the past couple years. I drive a company vehicle and work for a corporation that has a strict drving points program that is nationwide. Unfortunatly my state stinks and looks for anyway to tax someone. Maryland isn't what it used to be.
Anyway, today I was traveling through Chevy Chase on Connecticuit Ave and I noticed right before the circle heading into DC, there was a little green box that snapped off a bright light as I approached surely ruining someone's day on the other side. Me being paranoid, thought, what if that was me that it was getting coming at it. I was only going 24 mph in a 30. I pulled over and looked up the cameras on line and thought it couldn't have been. So I went about my business and now I had to go back the same way to go home. I was heading for the death zone of te camera and slowed down to 22 mph. There was no way I was breaking any laws. I was flanked by a car on the right and left both which were passing me and WHAMMO...the damn light goes off. Now I am sweating. So I head home and call Montgomery County to ask how they take pictures and single out one car when you are flanked by two others. I just don't trust these cameras. I drive so SLLLLOOOOWWWWW in my company car because 3 tickets in 2 years and I am unemployed. It doesn't matter if they are speed cameras, red light camera, or cops giving the tickets. You are done. I make good money and have a family to support.
Do you guys think that the Chevy Chase green box could have falsely hit me with a citation even though I was only doing 22 in a 30 or should I believe in the laser accuracy. And come to think of it the cars in the other lanes weren't doing 30 either. WHAT GIVES AND WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND WHY ARE WE JUST TAKING IT??????
