Hello,
I'm in the northwest of Phoenix, Arizona, in the town of Surprise. I'm so far out of town I can see the Milky Way at night.
Just a guy with a car who wants to go fast, safely.
That's all.

Welcome. Have any problems with speed cameras?
Speed Cams are a way of life here in the metro Phoenix area.
True story....when I first moved here two years ago I got "flashed", or ,as a guy I know says "It felt like I was surrounded by paparazzi" , and got the ticket in the mail from the city of Snottsdale (Scottsdale) AZ while tooling down the east 101 loop.
At the time I had a rural AZ address that would resemble a PO box in other parts of the country.
On the advice of someone I didn't pay it. Figured my address was 100 miles away, not easily found and they never bothered to send someone out to track me down.
In the end....according to the AZ Superior Court public web site, where you can look anyone up if you know their name, they dismissed it after 90 days.
As it stands right now AZ gives you 10mph on the highways....go 11 mph over and you too get to experience "the paparazzi effect". Now naturally do something stupid and draw attention to yourself, like go like a bat out of hell between the speed cams and you'll have the opportunity for some one on one personal counseling by one of AZ DPS's white Nissan Altimas with headlights and tail lights a flashing that I've seen stopping cars on the west 101 loop near Glendale, AZ.
All in all, I love it out here, but honestly, having driven in 40+ out of 50 states, AZ is above and by far the LEAST driver friendly of all of them.
Just a guy who likes going fast safely.

Good thing I moved from AZ right before they put up all those speed cams
Welcome to the forum. Have you looked into a radar detector?
Welcome to our forum
As a matter of fact I ordered a V1 this morning when I got to work. Looked into several for quite some time and overall it seems that it had what I was looking for in terms of performance and reliability. Like anything, there's a learning curve and one needs to dedicate themselves to learning what it is the detector is telling you.
Another thing I'm learning here that where I live in AZ the sales tax is nearly 10% when you combine the state, county and in some cases the city sales tax. Bottom line I'll buy on line to avoid it.
Now I'm looking into a Cheetah GPS mirror and eventually a LIDAR jammer/shifter.
Good choice. The V1 is the best RD available. Go with either Blinder or Laser Interceptor as your jammer system.
Arizona is a great state to enjoy driving in, just do so out of the built up areas and stay away from those cameras.
I would have to disagree with the opinion that the V1 is the best but don't let my opinion sway you. Read what RadarRoy has to say about it.
For Arizona, with their massive amount of Radar and Redlight cameras, the 9500ix or 9500ci are very good choices.
I have had multiple encounters with AZ LEO in this car. (31 in AZ, NM, CO and UT) I think the translation for my personalized plate is "pull me over I am a kid and have drugs and illegals in the car".
Of all my encounters only 2 have resulted in tickets. One was in CO for someone elses speed. The other was a bogus charge of passing an emergency vehicle.
Here are my thoughts on AZ LEOs:
If LEO is on a bike and pulls you over, you are probably getting a ticket.
If LEO is DPS and on the interstate and pulls you over, you are probably getting a ticket.
If LEO is from (in my neck of the woods) Oro Valley or Marana and pulls you over, you are probably getting a ticket.
If you are a Veteran, take advantage of getting a Vet plate. The benefits of being a Vet extends beyond active duty.

I also disagree on the V1 choice. Cameras are by a vast margin the dominant threat. In the past month, driving 4 days a week in AZ, I have not seen a LEO using a measurement device.
If you want a V1 I would supplement it with a Cheetah C50 or alternatively just go for a 9500ix or 9500ci. Escort updates its camera database weekly, and so it is a phenomenal advantage over V1 which typically does not pickup redflex cameras.
If you stick with the V1 adding a Cheetah C50 is awesome too and only $100 although the updates on the Cheetah are pretty expensive compared with Escort's.
