Hi everybody. I'm new to the site. I've owned radar detectors for a long time. All the way back to an escort with an analog needle for signal strength. I can't say I'm any expert. I try to read test reports and then make purchases based on any observed behavior in addition to what I've read in the reports.

Currently I have a Valentine One pre-POP though not sure which version I have. It is currently hard wired to my rear view mirror with an invis-cord and does not use the V1 hard wire box. I also have a blue led 8500 which I move around to other vehicles that I may drive.

I tried running the 8500 and the V1 at the same time to get comparison data but the 8500 set the V1 off.

I do not know anything about programming a V1.

Guess that's about it. Certainly curious about running more than one detector and also what people think is the best all around protection package for a daily driver and for road trips.

and welcome....if you havent sent your v1 to valentine research in a couple years i would recommend it to keep your v1 running at top sensitivity

Welcome to the forum, running two detectors at the same time is not a good idea. They can interfere with each other and will sometimes miss alerts and you will get reduced range.
