Post New guy... to this forum...

    Hello all.

Was encouraged to join this forum by an acquaintance in the "Escort" Radar Detector forum.

I recently purchased a Escort 9500ci for my 2005 Corvette. I know a bit about RADAR and am learning more each day regarding the finite details of LIDAR. If you know of any technical documents regarding LIDAR, feel free to point me to them.

And for those who are wondering, no I'm not a Raven... but I do "speak their language".

    Welcome to the Forum

Nice setup, you're in the process of building.

If one can afford it, Laser Interceptor is the jammer of preference.

    Thanks Snoopy and Goat!

That link is good info. Hard to believe only a few IR Diodes play into all this. I'm wondering if the level and square mounting is due to polarization of the "source" that is measuring distance... or if polarization comes into play at all with IR ranging and speed measurements?

I can see how having them mounted "Squared" with the vehicle would ensure a forward source would be optimally received and shifted... just trying to understand more about the technology.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a technical background. I'm sure you will make a great addition to the group.

You may want to consider upgrading your jammers. I have 9500ci as well Nd the weak link is the ZR4s. I just bought LI Quad and am installing next week.

Welcome to the forum. Okay, so you chose a literary symbol as a user name, and as your location. Very interesting. So the Raven was chosen by the Coke head author as a non-reasoning creature, to illustrate the self-torture to which he exposed himself by interpreting signs that do not bear a real meaning. As perched upon the bust of Pallas, the goddess of wisdom, the Raven is perceived as speaking with wisdom.

So, if you are the Raven, and you say something, we are to perceive it as wise because you are perched upon the goddess of wisdom? Intersting symbolism. So you must be wise. On the other hand, the Raven is non-reasoning, and Poe considered using a Parrott instead of a Raven. But if you are non-reasoning, then you cannot be wise. Yet, you came to this forum to learn about countermeasures, so you must be wise. But, you have an avatar stating "Combat Sent" which presumably refers to the reconnaissance aircraft used by the USAF to support national intelligence, and/or special forces that had to conceal their whereabouts and appear as civilians, i.e., true stealthers, so you must be wise. On the other hand, you have ZR4's so you must not be wise. Yet, you are seeking information about them, and you own a 2005 Corvette, you must be wise.

If this were the movie The Princess Bride, this is where I would choose which goblet from which to drink, and would end up poisoned because you have built up an immunity to the toxicity, and you would have shown yourself to be the most wise of all.

    Welcome to the forum!

It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma! Quite a conundrum!
