I,m in Monroe CT and am looking for advice on radar and laser detectors. Seems like a lot of good advice here.

Welcome to the forum. First off, how much are you looking to spend on your radar detector? Also, there are no good "laser detectors"; the only reliable defense against police laser is a laser jammer.

Looking at Blinder M27 along with Escort 9500ci.

Wow, I'm assuming money isn't an issue then. Escort 9500ci is a great radar detector. The M27 is a good laser jammer system as well but it will only provide you with frontal protection. Since money isn't a problem, I'd also look into the Blinder M47 for front and rear laser protection and the Laser Interceptor Quad.

Snoopyc4 I've decided on the 9500ci and M27. I can always add two more heads to the M27 later. Now my next challenge is the placement on my Infiniti G37. I've posted in the placement thread for some help.

    Hi,
I am also in Connecticut, down in the Guilford area and recently (like today) purchased a 9500ci and an LI quad. Have you found a place to do an install? I am considering Automobilia in Orange after having had a good experience with detailing with them, but am unsure about the breadth of their experience with this type of install.

    Hi KenV99,

I'm in Monroe in Fairfield county. I'm actually having Automobilia do the install so I'll let you know how it goes. They wanted to put the 9500ci receiver behind the bumper but some of the members here with experience warned against it. So I'm going to have him mount it in the lower grill on the drivers side. Not the best place but, with my front end no other choice.

Thanks, do let me know. I am meeting with Alex from their shop a week from today to look at my car and decide where to put the heads. I think I am going to ask him to take out my ashtray and replace it with a blank for my controls.

    Hi KenV99,

That's where he is going to be putting my controls. In the ashtray, since I don't use it. The display will be on the steering column near the cover for the dash. I'll take some pictures and post.
