Default Hello from the Pacific Northwest

Well, I thought I had better post a few times, so I can see images at least!

I have a performance car that I drive "in a spirited manner from time to time" when conditions allow, and have had a V1 for many years. It was upgraded a couple years ago (3.826 I think). Recently I discovered this forum as I was trying to determine whether to buy a GPS based device, and was expecting to find that as a pure RD the V1's time has come and gone. I see differently here. I did ultimately order a 9500ix, and will probably mostly use it in my work truck (around town), and continue to use the V1 in my car.

Anyway, I've enjoyed reading the several threads, attachments, etc. I noticed that it seems Laser has become the LEO method of choice to a large degree, which makes me wonder if I'd better invested in laser jamming than another RD.

The V1is still a top-notch RD. The only RDs that have it beat on raw sensitivity are a few of the high-end Belscorts, but the V1 is still very close. The V1's arrows still make it the favorite of a great many forum members.

You'll notice that driving around Seattle with your 9500ix that a few of the red light cameras are also speed-on-green cameras, which means that they can give out speeding tickets as well as red light tickets.

Yes, laser is the speed enforcement tool I've seen most used by Washington staties. A laser jammer would be a wise investment.

    Thanks for the reply.

I need to find someone that has done a clean install of the LI quad on some version of my car. I can't see how a rear installation will look good. I guess I could just go with front protection and remember to turn it off when I'm pinged.

    Welcome to the Forum

    Go Ducks *quack*

Counter Measures can be a challenge, in a multi-car family. I got my wifes' car a detector because MINE was not always in the vehicle that *I* happened to be driving.

Installing a jammer is a pain, period. Compromises, of some sort, are often necessary

Thanks, Guys, Cliff has been helpful to my post on placement advice, and I think I'll find a dealer around here with these babies to hold them up and see how they'd look each side of the plate. I thought that setting would be too far inboard, but it's really the only place on an E60 unless you have the M5.

    Thanks again,

    Cal
