Thread: Greetings!

    Default Greetings!

Hello everyone! I got tired of the notice at the top beckoning me to introduce myself so here goes......I drive a 2005 Pontiac GTO and have a Valentine One with Concealed Display waiting on me when I get home. I'm currently in the Navy and deployed in Afghanistan, but will be home within a month if all goes well. I haven't even used the V1 yet, as I purchased it while here and had it shipped to my house, but I'm looking at all of the great ideas everyone else has posted for inspiring ideas regarding how to hack my dash up and make everything look nice and low-profile while still remaining functional.

First ... Thank you for your service!

I hope I don't mess up your day but I didn't have much luck trying the V1

I tested my V1 for a couple of weeks. It was very annoying with all the false beeps. In some cases I would get 4 or 5 false beeps on one intersection.
I was even getting laser alerts from certain brake lights in front of me. It was funny to watch the brake light come on and my V1 would go mad.

The good news is that there are many people out there that still likes the V1 because of all the good OLD REVIEWS they have posted, that you will have no trouble unloading it on e-bay or newspaper ... that is if you don't like.

I have a Escort 9500ix on the way for a good test. I'm looking forward to see if the built in GPS will remove some of those false store front doors etc. alarms.

    Peace Ben

Welcome to the forum. (Nice ride btw) You made an excellent choice with the V1. It is very sensitive and provides exceptional situational awareness. As others have pointed out, the V1 is excellent at picking up radar, even radar from non LEO sources. There are ways to mitigate this, so read up on the forum.

Again, thank you for your service!

PS: Have you looked at laser countermeasures?
