So far the Redline has been good to me. I haven't had action with it yet because here in Suffolk County, the state troopers on the LIE 495 Expressway either just sit there and never get detected, or they are using speed trap methods no radar in the market can pick up!

I did some searches for "Long Island" threads and read about similar situation; the detectors are not picking off the troopers because they are just sitting there or are using LASER.

Your Redline won't save you from police laser. You'll have to look into a laser jammer.

Waste of money on LI. having my parents in Suffolk county I am there on the holidays and I rarely ever need a detector to safely speed and not get a ticket.

You should have bought a cheaper detector and laser jammer.
