Hey everyone, I just stumbled across this forum since I was looking for a good radar detector. My choice after skimming these forums for a few days was between the V1 or the 9500IX... I purchased both so far, 9500IX on the way, and my V1 I have already, but I think some jerk sold me a defective unit where it does not alert AT ALL . I had tested my V1 along with my friends V1 (of course I used them one at at time ), his went off under those electronic speed signs and some other places while mine stayed silent ... so I tried to call the owner to get my money back, he is avoiding my calls . What a bad start to radar detectors

Unfortunately, this story is quite common for used V1s. What version is it?

Howdy - I also couldn't make up my mind and ended with the V1 & 9500ix.
Since your V1 doesn't seem to be working correctly, and you might not get your money back, the sending it in for a tuneup was mentioned. If you have to go through that route, before you do you might want to call VR and run the serial number first to see if is legit. Just saying what I would do.

Try not to be disgruntled with your purchase, send it in for a fix up and make no mistake the V1 is top notch IMO>>>>>>>>>>

I second that. Make sure you call in and find out. It would have been so much easier if you got the v1 brand new so that you have 30 days to return it back if your not satisfied.
