Newbie here from Houston, I've been very impressed with the forum and look forward to start contributing and learning from the community.
I've been a big fan of radar detection for some time, using an 8500 for many years in my old Honda and have recently decided to upgrade to a more robust setup.
The car in question is an Aston Martin Vantage. My preliminary thought was to pair an LI quad with either a V1 or a 9500ci and have considered a few possible ways of doing this, however I am very open to suggestions on both equipment and arrangement.
A few things I was thinking about:
- Can a V1 be built-in to the pt where no dash-mount is needed? Is 9500ci only solution? I'm looking to avoid the appearance and possible security issues of a dash-mounted detector.
- Can you / would you ever want to run a 9500ci without the shifters? It seems that those who have both ZR4 and LI's installed run ZR4 in PA, which seems unnecessary
- how drastically will a v-low mount pt on the 9500ci effect performance compared to a dash-mounted detector?
Piece of mind and reliability are of paramount importance to me and I'm willing to spend a little extra to get there. No system is better than one that only works 50% of the time. Please let me know if you guys have any thoughts. Thanks for bearing with me,
