Hello every one
I would like to introduce myself. I am from Cincinnati Ohio and I have found this site after I was traveling on vacation and went through Virginia and got nailed with a ticket for having a radar detector. I was using my Valentine One and it started going off on ka band almost half a mile before I spotted the LEO hiding in the median. I had plenty of time to slow down and adjust my speed as I passed him. He then pulled me over and asked for my license, registration and radar detector. I was pretty upset because at the time I thought he was going to confiscate my V1 but luckily he brought it back to me with a 101 dollar ticket. I was under the impression that the V1 was VG2 protected but then found out from the LEO that he detected me with Spectre III that I didnít even know existed. After browsing the Internet I have come across this forum and realized VG2 is old stuff and the V1 is not shielded from a Spectre detector. I learned a lesson and donít plan on traveling through Virginia again. I look forward to meeting all of you.
I currently own a Valentine One version 1.8 and a blue Escort 8500 x50 . Here in Cincinnati, this is always a heated argument being this is the birth place of Cincinnati Microwave and Valentine One but I defiantly favor the V1 over the Escort as far as performance and arrows, but must say the 8500 falses a little less. I live 2 minutes away from Valentine research which is convenient because I usually get my V1 tuned up once a year so I am fortunate enough to just pop in and drop it off. I have never been charged for the tune ups and have met Mike Valentine and often see him on Reedhartmen Highway. I am going to get my 8500 tuned up here soon but I am not sure if I can drop it off but will give it a shot. Nice forum you all have here, and I am very thankful for the good information.
