    Talking Hi from North Jersey

    Hey Everyone,

I just bought a new 9500ix and will have it delivered tomorrow.
I will be using it in my 2010 G37x. After receiving two bogus tickets in the last three months (after 20 years of no tickets!) I realized that New Jersey needs to be called Ticketsville and bought my first ever radar detector after long research.

    My questions are:
1- Where should I mount the 9500ix in my G37x?
2- Does the tint on my rear window interfere with its range? (20%) And can I tint a small piece of the windshield to conceal it (like some sotted areas between sun shields in some cars)?
3- Do cops pull people over when they see the radar detector mounted on your windshield?
4- What laser jammer can I use with the 9500ix?

Sorry for all the noob questions and TIA.

2- Does the tint on my rear window interfere with its range? (20&#37 And can I tint a small piece of the windshield to conceal it (like some sotted areas between sun shields in some cars)? If it's not metallic you should be alright. Tint it a 100% if you want and it's non metallic.
3- Do cops pull people over when they see the radar detector mounted on your windshield?I don't know about that but when a cop sees a rd your chance of a warning goes to zero.
4- What laser jammer can I use with the 9500ix?Well Escort makes the ZR4, but your G37 deserves better. A while back, somebody put a Blinder M27 on the front of their G37 and it performed well. Laser Interceptor is generally recognized as the best and Binder as your budget option. You can get a 10% discount if you go through radarbusters.

All detectors should be mounted as high and close to the windshield as possible. Most suction cup it behind the tint strip, just above the rear view mirror.

2- Does the tint on my rear window interfere with its range?
Dunno. You'll have to test that yourself to find out. Park across the street from an automatic door opener that falses your detector, then move the detector to and from behind the strip to see if there is a difference in signal strength. Usually, there is not.

(20%) And can I tint a small piece of the windshield to conceal it (like some sotted areas between sun shields in some cars)?
Yep. Just make sure your tint shop uses a non-metallic tinting material.

3- Do cops pull people over when they see the radar detector mounted on your windshield?
Not commonly, but sometimes. If your detector is visible to a passing cop, that's a FAIL on your part. If it's mounted where it should be, nobody will see it unless they are in your car.

4- What laser jammer can I use with the 9500ix?
Which ever you want to. They have nothing to do with each other, so there is no compatibility issue. But most here would advise you to buy the best.

    Good luck!

I tested an 09 M37 with M27 without proper allignment and it was JTG up to 400ft with the TruSpeed and LR-B. Someone had the same car with a properly mounted M27 and it was JTG. I think Blinder Guy was the shooter and shot through a camera. Don't remember which guns though.

Thanks, Red. Very useful info. Do you think I should hardwire it to the fuse box or to the auto dim mirror?

Thanks, Stealth Stalker. I appreciate all the info. Will definitely try the door opener.
