Funny, I have picked up Cobra rd's w/ my Spectre well over a mile away depending on the leakage coming off of the Cobra. I have asked VR about a Spectre proof V1 when I call for the past three years and "supposedly" they are still working on it? Seems like time is standing still on this issue? If a Spectre proof V1 does come out, it will probably be a totally different designed V1. I know that VR does own a Spectre RDD so at least that's a start but what they are doing w/ it, I have NO IDEA!

Sorry to hear you're from Hellginia, the 2nd worst state on speeding laws. (NC first) As you know anything over 80 or 20 over the PSL will land you a reckless driving ticket in that terrible state, which is a mandatory court appearance and a criminal offense. First advice, move the hell out of VA. Welcome to the forum btw.

Some have commented on the iPhone GPS connectivity for "photo radar" dependant upon cell phone coverage. That they go "rural" where coverage is spottie. For me that doesn't really don't matter in Northern VA and coverage is abundant. Plus, don't think I would find a photo camera in the back woods of VA .

Another has commented on "Valentine Research" has been working on the Spectre coverage for 3 years; with no products in site. Is this a Roose from Valentine to keep us from moving to REDLINE. Valentine, are you listening????

Let us know how the Redline works out. That would be my choice as well. Really wanting the GPS though. Thinking about putting some coin down on a Cobra Cobra XRS 9970G until the Valentine upgrade is available. Less than $200 for a bandaid.

I went with the Cheetah C50 for my GPS and have the Redline.

So far the Redline is going great. Compared to V1 it's still tit 4 tat. No real radar encounters yet to compare performance to. I'm sure it will come soon enough though. I like the unit and impressed with it.
