Default Valentine V1 w/Spectre Stealth and GPS

I am a newbie to this site ; but a long time user of RDs dating back to the first Passport. I had been comfortable for years with my trusted V1 living in Virginia. However, with the advent of the VSP using Sprectre IV, and the locals using LIDAR, I started looking for a solution that would give me the protection and performance of my V1. Very hard to find. Impossible comes to mind.

To get the GPS functionality (ie 9500xi, sc555) I am awaiting my GPS iPhone solution for the V1 (radaractive.com ) Looks promising, especially after chatting with the principles. Little applet running on the iPhone using internet access for the GPS database along with running the V1 screen on the iPhone. I have signed up as an "early adopter" which gives me lifetime access to the DB.

So, GPS solved? Maybe??? We will see. So, I called Valentine to inquire on what to do about stealthing out Spectre IV. According to xxxxx at Valentine a solution is in the works and will be an upgrade per their standard policy. I tried to pulll a date with no success. Maybe those on this forum will have more details they can share.

With the LPO now using LIDAR , I needed protection as I was just shot going to my local post office. I have on order the latest version of the Blinder M27 that is has not been released yet. They are emptying the current inventory over the next couple weeks. The "V2" of the M27 doubles the DIODE output. So, my LIDAR stealth will be a V2 M27 on the front with a third V2 receiver on the rear.

SO, WHAT is the INTENT OF THIS POSTING?
    1. Forum for info on the V1 Spectre Stealth Upgrage (when, specs, how many $)
    - Showing Valentine the market opportunity so they do their dlligence.
    - Truckers UNITE - V1 with Spectre Stealth is their dream machine
    2. Forum on V1 GPS support.
    - (radaractive.com)

If I have "tickled" your interest, help keep the link florishing with your comments.

I run my V1 every day in VA. Whenever I see a LEO I kill the V1 and look to see if it has Spectre in the windshield. I have yet to see any...knock on wood. Once Valentine releases this spectre-proof version, I will send mine in for the upgrade. Until then, they can pry my V1 from my cold dead hands.

Stealth V1 has been tried and they couldn't figure out how to do it. You need some laser transponders (Blinder or LI) to help protect with laser.

Welcome! Been there, done that. Sprung for a Redline in which I'm still trying out. Miss the arrows though.

Let us know how the Redline works out. That would be my choice as well. Really wanting the GPS though. Thinking about putting some coin down on a Cobra Cobra XRS 9970G until the Valentine upgrade is available. Less than $200 for a bandaid.

    1. The Cobra will be detectable via Spectre for at least 1/2 mile. I'm assuming that you are under the impression that the Cobra is undetectable via Spectre, because you saw the test out there where the Cobra was not detected. Trust me when I tell you, those test results are completely bogus and not reproducable with retail Cobra detectors.

    2. The Cobra GPS features are nowhere near as capable as the Belscort GPS features. The Cobra will have the camera database warnings, but the GPS on the Cobra does absolutely nothing to filter false alarms.

Thanks for the heads up. I have my radaractive.com GPS for the Valentine / iPhone being shipped next week. See how the GPS works. As for stealthy, if Escort 9500xi and Redline would have "offspring" I would certainly pick on up. Guess I must wait till Valentine cloaks the V1 for the Spectre.

    Welcome.

The only problem i see with using a phone based GPS service like that is that if your data connection drops, so does your GPS system... And i drive through some of the mountainous parts of Va every now n then... service can get pretty spotty. Id look into a Cheetah system or an SC55.

Redline or another stealth installed detector would work well with an SC55 in Va.
