Welcome aboard. Nice choice of equiment.
welcome to the forum!
What area are you from? You should do well with your setup.
I'm from baltimore--- drive between baltimore and dc a lot on i95. also drive a lot between md, Philadelphia and upstate ny on 95, 83, 81 and sometimes 476.
I'm nervous about the 9500ix not being sufficient on the hills and curves on 81 and 476 traveling to upstate ny ---- will the 9500ix be ok?
You may want to post the question in the escort section. I don't own the 9500ix so I can't directly comment. The ix gives you the GPS lockouts and is a great urban detector, but may not have the off axis sensitivty you are looking for.
From what I have read on this forum, you might want to look at the redline or the Bel Sti-r (If you can find one-discontinued). You would give up the GPS features but gain the off axis sensitivity. In general I always like the V1, but for lots of hills and curves I may think hard about the redline.
Welcome to the forum
I have the weakest performing V1 on this forum, and I got phenomenally impressive off-axis and hill sensitivity on my recent trip across Arizona and New Mexico. And I can't imagine giving up the exclusive benefits of a V1 for a little bit of straight-line sensitivity, when I already get miles worth.
