    Default New, need answer! Thanks!!

    Hello, ive got a ?...

    Does the window tint effect the radar detection signal

    I have a sunstrip on the front window and it is dark... if i put the radar detector in front of that will it not work?

    Welcome to the forums!

    Metallic window tint will reduce detector performance. Look for ceramic films that are "signal enabling." Tint companies will advertise that they do not block radio signals. These tints are safe to use. I use 3M Crystalline and 3M Color Stable - both signal enabling films. It isn't the color or darkness that determines it, it is what the film is made of.
