Default Passport - Original model released in '84

    Hello Fellows Detector Fans.

My 1st detector was the original Passport, purchased in '86. Although I've purchased recent models, I still use the original occassionally. The build quality is unparallel. I still have all the original box, manual and most of the accessories that came with it.

I do need to replace the original coiled power cord (has 2 male end connectors). So if anyone knows the connectors size (mm) or where I can get a replacement - it would be greatly appreciated!

I believe Escort still carries replacement cords for all of their units, even the original Escort and Passport models. Welcome to the Forum.

I had the original Escort (with the analog meter) and then the passport in the 80's. Just a word of caution, the passport is X and K band, so you have no protection against Ka band. Plus I suspect even the K band detection is sub par compared to today's products.

Thanks Freebird. I emailed Escort Radar customer support and posed the question about a replacement cord. I'll see if they can help!

Use it for what? I hope not for radar detection.

Could be for Nostalgic reasons. I have quite a few of my "older" electronics myself

I still use my original Escort. I have it set up on the roof of my house to provide me with advance warning in case I am attacked by Walgreens or CVS!

You are welcome. They do not have them listed on the website but I recall seeing something in the past from them stating they had replacement cords for the original units. I have the original passport and it would be really cool if the redline was as compact as the original passport was.
