Wink New Member from Brooklyn, New York (and upstate NY too!)

Hello fellow forum members. My name is Pav and I am a newbie from Brooklyn, New York. I also spend some time upstate NY near Saugerties. I like cars and I like driving fast! I currently own a 2009 BMW x5 4.8 Liter V8 and a 1998 Porsche 911 cabriolet. I use a V1 for radar detection. Over the years I have received numerous speeding and other moving violations. Unfortunately, two days ago I received a speeding ticket on route 90W near Troy NY while driving in my Porsche. I was driving up a slight incline and he clocked me doing 87 in a 55 (I thought the speed limit was 65) at a distance of 2008 feet (about 5.5 football fields)!!!! The laser gun went off, I hit the brakes but it was too late. He used an LTI ultralyte gun. According to the manufactures specs the lasers maximum range is 2000 feet. Any chance I can use this in my defense or should I go straight to finding a good lawyer. Thanks and I look forward to actively participating in this wonderful forum!

    Pav

    Welcome to the forum!

You should consider laser jammers for your vehicles.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good information to share with members.

The V1 is a great detector but you really need the LI Jammer for laser protection. Laser receivers by themselves will just let you know that you will be getting a ticket, jammers will protect you. LI is the best jammer on the market today.

I'm curious how many tickets you got from radar while using your V1. My V1 has been very effective. However, you still need to be alert and use tactics to prevent tickets. You have come to the right place to learn.

I suggest that you go to the "How to Beat Your Ticket" section of the forum to find out about tactics for tickets.

Read and learn before you purchase more countermeasures. Countermeasures are just a tool and we all need to learn which tool is best for our driving style and the best way to use them.

    Good luck.

Welcome aboard. Sucks about the ticket, personally I'd look at the how to beat a speeding ticket, AND get a lawyer. Couldn't hurt.
