Default New member and just purchased the Escort 9500ix

I am a new member to this site and just purchased the Escort 9500ix. I am heading to Florida at the end of the month and from what I've researched about the 9500ix, I feel pretty confident that I'll be able to avoid speed traps. I should note that I never drive more than 5 or 10 mph over the speed limit but I know that is enough to be pulled over because it has happened to me going 76 in a 70 zone.

    Welcome to the forum.

Your 9500IX although a very good radar detector, will just like any other radar/laser detector can never offer you 100% protection. Radar/Laser detectors offer almost no protection from LIDAR, and no protection from Vascar.

Driving 5-10 over, you will receive none to little attention.

Welcome to the forum! Excellent choice on the 9500ix.

Most of the time, I drive about the same as you.

    Welcome to the forum.
The 9500ix is a very good unit. Read up on the forum so that you are familiar tactics and you know your units strengths / weaknesses (all detectors have strengths and weaknesses). Going your speeed you should have plenty of advance warning and will not be the LEO's first choice to pull over. IO/QT and Laser represent the primary measure that your 9500ix will have difficulty giving enough advance notice.

I still like that detector. I love the gps. Lots of cool features.
