    Default Introduction

    Hello Everyone
I've been a member here since 2005 (according to my records) although I've never posted or used this site.

I'll be 60 this year. I retired with 29yrs of service as a Police Officer in 2002. I began my career with the Oregon State Police in June of 1973 and then joined Portland Police in 1976. When I retired from the Portland Police Bureau in 2002, I was a Sgt and had been for 20+ yrs.

I haven't worked traffic since about 1987. On the State Police I remember we used the MR7 moving radar,. In Portland when I worked traffic, we used the either X or K band guns. I cannot remember who made them either. Back then, there were no laser guns.

Congrats on your retirement. I retired from DC Police 2/04. I almost left and went to Oregon State at one point. It takes some getting use to-- civilian life. Took me a couple of years and I am still waiting for some of the nightmares to go away! I don't think those really go away, we see so much and very hard to explain to others.

Welcome back to the forum, I went down from WA a few years ago to take the police test in Portland but I didn't make. Congrat on your retirement and it's good to have you back.
