Default Hello from the keystone state!

HI all, first time buyer here. I have a trip coming up, FL back to PA during easter and want to pickup a RD. Ive read about the top end products and know which are good/bad and what not. Im looking to see what is better suited to my driving/car and price. Id buy a jammer if I had some more $$$. Anyways..

-I want it for highway driving.
-I drive a 300zx, so its low and small. No front plate
-Staying under 200$ (im buying used)

A couple of deals I have come across
    -Passport 8500 and X50 for 85-130$
    -Passport 9500i around 200
-V1 (older model, SN 8733770336, not sure which this is) for 75. An updated one for 175
    -Bel rx65 around 140

    Thanks!

all the detectors you listed are used?
if you get that 75 dollar v1 your gonna have to upgrade, it's a really old one the upgrade would be around 280 for that so youd be spending about 355

if you want to stay under 200 get an 8500 refurb
    probably your best bet

    btw welcome

Welcome the $75 v1 will cost 279+ shipping to be updated so I'd go for the $175 one if it is the latest update just make sure it has the S/N intact and it is not stolen. The refurbished 8500 X50 s7 antenna is second best

Could get a refurb 8500 and a CB for around $200.00. Channel 19 is usually better than having a RD.

I didn't go the way of the 8500 unfortunately, but I definitely agree with the CB, it's priceless as a CM, and it's free entertainment with the truckers.

I'm thinking the passport 8500 is probably your best bet IMO,

Agree also the CB is a most valuable CM.

    Welcome.

Florida to Pennsylvania is a long drive. A CB would entertain you the whole trip and will keep you informed about speed traps. I agree with everyone too. Get the 8500. And good luck on your trip.
