    Default Greetings from the Midwest

Hi everyone from a Midwestern RD enthusiast here.

I've owned RDs for 20 + years, starting with one from Radio Shack in the late 80's that was nearly as big as a CB radio.

Last night I sold my Escort 8500 X50 to help fund a new purchase, probably a V1 but haven't ruled out the 9500 ix. Still doing some research between the two and stumbled upon this site, which is filled with great info. It's not that I wasn't satisfied with the 8500 X50, and although I had it updated from Escort, it's still 7 years old and likely a bit long in the tooth. I guess you could say I'm just a little geeky and want to update to the next level of RD.

Anyway, I look forward to learning a lot from everyone.

The V1 is a beast of a RD and is a great performer, I also owned the 8500 and upgraded to the Redline, another great performer in the Radar "Arts"

Welcome to our most excellent site.

Been using a RD for 25 years and a V1 for most of it. The unit has been upgradeable all along. Mostly for the inconvenience of doing without for a week or two whule it's being updated.

Allot depends on what type of radar your up againist and how it is used along with what type of falseing.

V1 has been the metronome of the RD industry.

Thanks for all of the kind welcomes. I took a look today at the 9500 ix and frankly I'm not prepared to pay that much for an RD, and I seem to find as many reviews that favor the V1 as I do that favor the 9500 ix. The Redline looks promising too, though. I may take a look at that one as well.

Thanks again and I look forward to learning a bunch of techno RD stuff on here.

Ohio V1 owner for 15 years. Escort is good at constant on but not as good as V1 for QT and less.
