Default Hi from Orange County, CA

Hello everybody! I have been reading the forum for quite sometime now but never written anything. I got my first radar detector and ticket sometime ago and have been building on my knowledge ever since. I have a Beltronics GX65 and I know you guys are not big fans of it, but I love it. I got it over the Escort 9500ix because I am not a fan of the auto-lock feature and the red screen of the GX matches my car , it's a 07 Acura TL Type S and it's all red inside. The first ticket I got was a little after I got the detector, an officer on a bike with a laser... I got a pretty early warning but didn't have the reflex to slow down quick enough. From there on I have had about 5 saves. Once Ka while hiding in bushes, laser after a corner, Ka (Stalker 34.7) at the end of a hill and numerous times on the freeway (Ka blasted at me while in an empty lane doing considerably more than traffic). Anyway that is my story and hope to learn a lot of new info on the forum.

Welcome new poster. I used to live in RSM. I would suggest investing in a Laser Interceptor for your TL. It is the best protection against another laser ticket you can get aside from driving the speed limit, and who can do that here in So Cal. There are a lot of LEO's to deal with in your area as I am sure you are aware of. A Laser Interceptor would pay for itself quickly. Be safe and Welcome.

I am looking into a laser jammer, but I know they are illegal. Do you know what the consequences are if a person is caught with one?

Welcome. If you get caught with jammers in CA, it's a fix-it ticket. No big deal.

CVC 28150 is a Class 1A infraction, which means about $129 fine and no points, so no big deal.

I've never heard of this in California, but the real problem you might have is that a LEO with an attitude might try to charge you with "Resisting, Delaying or Obstructing an Officer". Here is the California Penal Code for that. If your lawyer can't beat that for using a laser jammer, he's an idiot. That said, it's a misdemeanor, so the risk is alot higher than for CVC 28150.
