Default New Member with new RD. have a ?

Hello, New to the forum. I have owned several detectors over the years going back to my old Escort passport circa 1988, a few others as well Still own a mint Solo 5. I have been out of the scene for years. Recently I had a few close calls luckily no ticket. So I started researching radar detectors, my choice was the Beltronics Rx65. I plan on adding a LI in the future. Here is my question I have an upcoming drive New England to Florida, how concerned should I be going through VA ? Thanks.

If you put it away, put it in the trunk.

I read on another post yesterday that in the glove box is it still considered in use as it could easily be plugged in or unplugged... Kinda make sense if you think about it. Better than our illegal provinces up here where RDs cannot be sold, offered, given and cannot be in a motor vehicle at any time which is dumb but oh well.

IMO...the $100 illegal equipment ticket is better than a speeding ticket. I would only "really" worry about the RD in the southern part of VA. Once you start hitting Doswell, Richmond, Williamsburg/VA beach.

Or just go around VA and cut through W.VA. No worries there!
