Default Ordered a Redline it arrived today

    Hello Everyone -

I ordered a Redline after doing allot of homework, youtube videos and other topics and discussions online. I have used radar detectors over a 20 year span. A few years ago I had a really nice V1 stolen out of my car in my driveway and could not afford to replace it. I was able to get a hold of a Whistler Pro-73 which was just 'ok' at best (filtering was not too good). I sold a Escort X50 Silver last year and have been without anything for about 9 months. The X50 served me well and saved me many many tickets (a great detector).

I moved to a rural area of Orlando (Kissimmee) and in my county there allot of LEO speed traps and activity. Its almost like a daily routine when and where they will be. I do drive about 56 miles round trip a day to and from work with long straight roads close to home and some city speed cameras in town. I know the Redline will not help with speed camera's i believe. I just wanted something different and hope I made a good choice.

It seems QC can be an issue with this model so any tips when i first hook it up and what to expect and look for are greatly appreciated. What current version should i look for on this detector. I work until 8pm tonight and the commute home is about an hour. The wife told me UPS just left it at the front door ("Thanks UPS!") ....When my wife got home she brought it in for me to have fun with later tonight. I purchased the Super Cup too. I read where this detector has some weight to it and I wanted it to hold solid on my windshield.

Anyway, I look forward to any setting adjustments and info other owners can offer me. Thanks! Steve

Thank you, busy 1st morning with the Redline. Picked up Leo at the RaceTrac clocking off Hwy 17/92 then about 4miles further down picked up another LEO (State Transportation Officer) had an 18 Wheeler pulled over. Then close to John Young Parkway Orlando Police and Florida State Troopers were sorting out an accident on the shoulder of the road. All Ka hits with great warning. I opted to turn off AutoMute. Some minor adjustments in the settings. Turned off X band as well. So far so good. I did not notice in all of my research that the Redline has a rubberized chassis. Really impressive unit. I love the super cup windshield mount. I am concerned though performance may be lacking a little since it sits back about 3-4 inches from the windshield. But it is much better than the stock windshield mount. Have a good day everyone.

On another forum, they noted on a test that the Redline setting away from the glass hurts the performance a little. That is in question. Just beware with laser and I/O, the Redline is a little slow to alarm. Sometimes it will miss shots all together. That is the only concern one needs to have with that RD. Other wise, a great RD with C/O and hope it serves your needs well....
