    Default Escort 9500ci-dont buy!!!!

I made the mistake of buying and installing this unit. Overall cost about $2300 with the install. The keypad never really functioned other than mute. Because I own several properties around the country and don't drive this particular vehicle year round I didn't notice. Then my wife wanted me to change the volume and it didn't work. I checked the manual thought I was doing it right-nothing. Took it to the install place(when i had time and was in that city)and they said it wasn't working so I had them pull it out($150) so I could send in the control unit.

Now here comes the real reason you shouldn't deal with Escort. Zero customer service. I have their flagship model and nothing. I sent it in on the 5th overnight, didn't hear until the 12th that they wanted my credit card to charge me $60 for something that never worked in the first place. They said it was out of warranty but I said it never worked and because its not my daily driver nor am I even in that state year round how would I know. Then called on the 23rd for a call back on the status and no call. Then wrote them an email on the 25th-no reply from them. Then called on the 26th and they said it was still on the bench!!! They would call me back-no call. Just replace or fix the damn thing already. Then on the 27th I used their online chat to agent and they said that they were so behind with customer complaints they haven't gotten to mine yet. Oh wait they said I should receive it on the 2nd now…. hmmm oh and they still charged me the $60 but didn't tell me what was wrong, if they fixed or replaced it or anything.

If you ordered food at a restaurant and they took forever to bring it to your table they would comp your meal. Not Escort no no they think its fine to spend now close to $2500 and for you to make all the calls and take your car in for install de install etc…

There are many companies out there save your self the hassle.

Sorry to here the issue you had and the delay, Escort has some of the best CS in the industry and its unlike them to take more than 2-3 weeks. You will get a service ticket when its returned to you.

Actually there aren't many company's that make remote units, and none that are completely stealth. Let alone the performance Escort products have. My CI had been great for the passed 5+ years.

A service ticket???? Are you trolling for the company? What am I going to do with a service ticket? That doesn't solve the problem.

All of my information is 100% FACTUAL AND THE FACT IS THEY HAVE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I HAVE THE WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE IT. THIS IS UNDENIABLE, INDISPUTABLE AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW AND PROTECT THEMSELVES.

***also the company edits and refuses to post any negative reviews about their systems on their website. They have a review section but the fine print allows them to NOT PRINT NEGATIVE reviews. Sure they have some that are passive aggressive backhanded compliment that you may read as negative to give the appearance of a balanced review site like, " the k band is just so sensitive it works TOO MUCH…" Please save yourself the embarrassment of not being smart enough to read their "terms and conditions" and understand that they are LYING about the reviews of their companies products and support.

Wow, are you a competitive manufacturer trolling for negative banter?? All i was saying is the service ticket will tell you what they did for your unit.

I'm not debating your problem, strange you would twist it like i am. I'm just saying with the tens of thousands of posts i see on multiple forums Escorts CS is better than most (not that they are perfect, they clearly failed with you), and there aren't many company's that make remote units, and none that are completely stealth. Let alone the performance Escort products have over all other manufacturers.

BTW, no need to post the same exact thing on the same forum.

CJ, I don't think he's trolling, just frustrated - I share his same frustration, look at this thread from Beltronics where I paid $50 based on THEIR suggestion that it HAD to be the antenna, when in fact the antenna was operational and NOT out of tune at all, but rather a secondary control box unit I purchased from a 3rd party was the fault, no offer of refund or anything:

Beltronics STi-R ORIGINAL(not plus) displaying wrong frequencies - Beltronics Radar Forum

On another RD forum, they suggested, for a fee, I send the secondary control box in for service if I want. That is not the kind of CS I expect, but since it's out of warranty and literally something I could have troubleshooted myself, I won't contest it. However I do stand behind their product being superior to most on their market, just seems like their CS has been lacking lately.

I hope with the changes at Escort lately there CS isn't slipping. They were doing so well for so long it will be a shame if they cant service as effectively as they used to.

Larry (EscortRadar) may be our only hope for continued good CS if they are truly slipping.

I believe there in lies the answer. Without question, Larry does a terrific job for the forum members.

However one should not base an overall opinion about every aspect of CS as experienced by everyone else on this.

For all those individuals who are not forum members or who do not have direct access to Larry their experiences are certainly going to be different and one should recognize that.

Some of our community members feel or are quite close to any given mfr and that definitely can have an impact on their posts. These dynamics have, in my view, become very apparent in the wake of the release of the Max. I now take many opinions or comments from certain members with a bit of caution as a result. You are not alone with your feelings, rest assured.

For the record my 9500ci and STiR buttons have also become all but useless too. Apparently they're not really built to last.

All that being said, however, I trust if you express your grievance to Larry, he will sort you out.

LOL. Maybe you found the secret to their longevity. Perhaps I'll start spilling coffee on them!
