I had an original Fuzz Buster when they first came out. About the size of an actual radar gun and sat in the middle of the dash on my old Nova. Later I had some much smaller Escorts and another one or two that I can't remember right now. Then I bought diesel trucks and didn't / couldn't drive very fast any more. But eventually I bought a truck which will top 100 mph (or so I've heard <g>) and at about the same time found a cluster of those old detectors in a long forgotten moving box - reminding me of my past adventures.
Soon after I settled on a Bell Pro 500 - which has been a successful thing for me - but I'm sort of interested in maybe becoming even more pro-active. The laser thing troubles me and police application methods for radar seem to be getting better as well.
I often wonder how police guys think. I know that if I were in their place my idea would be: most people don't have radar detectors and so forth - I'll just ticket them as it's easier and safer. <g> I don't think I would be aggravated by the idea that there are radar detectors. In fact; although I don't know this to be true, my basic position would be that people with radar detectors are probably better and better practiced and safer drivers. They aren't the real hazard on the roads.
Anyway; here I am. <g>
