    Default Laser Interceptor Wished Option

Under a laser control most people do close their unit to avoid JTG ....that is a long term smart strategy.

    My suggestion :

Instead of completely shutting down the unit : it would be possible to keep the reception without the jam sequence .

Benefit : we could learn a lot about the behavior of Leo / laser gun.

    Is there a point ?

I would call this option : Mute Jam...

you mean have it alert to a laser encounter but not jam it when you press a switch/button? yea that would be kinda cool.

or you could just get a v1 =)

Exactely , you get the alert and jam... until you press a button ....could be a momentary switch....release it = back to jam.

Ur right ...I thought of it but in some circumstances even the most sensitive rd can miss the laser ...+ if you live in a banned area , you can't place the rd in a visible location.

But I am glad someone like the idea....cool

That would be a good idea but i have a feeling that the control box would have to be a lil larger to cope with the added computer boards. Plus not to mention the price would go up. If LI delivers their jammer like they say $400 for a dual head setup other jammers will become obsolete. We will sorta have a monopoly!

There wouldn't be any need for additional computer boards or a larger case... just one button and the firmware would suppress jamming after the button is pressed.

Heck, it might have a button already. Does it have any user functions; e.g. mute?

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

The MUTE button on the ZR3 mutes the audio on the first press, and stops jamming on the second press. Alerts are still received, and it resets back to normal operation after a minute or so.

The laser alert lights will continue to indicate laser reception regardless of how many times you use the MUTE button.

I posted the same request a while back. The ZR3/LP905 does this - hit the Mute button twice. I think it's only in software - relatively low development cost. I think all these 'extra cost' arguments don't have much basis.

Think about it. The control box is 'firing' the diodes by turning it on and off in response to received pulse. It doesn't turn the receiver sensor off because it needs to receive the next pulse. If the current Mute button is used (say press twice in a second), then the software doesn't jump into the code that turns the diode on/off.

I don't see why *any* jammer can't have this feature.

Still think it will drive up the cost? Please provide some real basis for it, I love to learn more.

Default Perhaps Lidatek was right all along

Sounds to me like many here are indirectly saying that Lidatek was right all along- Don't JTG lest too many suspicions arise.

A lot of jammers have this feature..sort of a "stealth" feature.

You jam the LIDAR gun until you are safely within the speed limit, at which you hit the button to stop jamming and the officer can get your speed.
Excellent idea, I would definitely use it, even in areas where laser jammers are legal.

Remember, a cop can still pull you over with an estimate, but if he gets your reading on a LIDAR gun and it shows you're within PSL, all I can say is

That is exactly how my $150 laserpro 904 works. You mean to tell me the $600-1000 jammers don't do this??

Very important feature considering you want to kill the jamming as soon as you slow down to reduce suspicion, but you still want to know if you are being hit (especially a second time while it is still disabled for the 30 or 60 sec period). And your radar detector often will not alert it up as it is mounted too high.
