    Default Random LI error message

Well, I installed 2 heads LI a couple of weeks ago.

After that, sometimes I get the "poor or bad connection" voice message.

This happens once or twice every 2 or 3 days, randomly. I checked the two RJ11 connectors and they seem fine.

I checked heads also. with a closer inspection I found that the transparent cover of one head is not perfectly glued to the body.

See the pic (it's not the real picture of my head: I used someone else picture adding the drawing of the fissure)

There is a small gap between the body and the cover and if I push the cover with my thumb the gap is reduced, but it returns like a spring when I stop pushing.

Is it possible that the head got some water inside trough the fissure (we have had some rain last days) so the CPU diagnostics gives the connection error?

    LI guys, what's your opinion?

Does it happen only when you turn your car on? If so then it's a premature error message according to the U.S. distributor. It will not affect jamming. Elvis, want to chime in?

Yes, I get the message when I turn the switch on.

    A questions:

The connections diagnostic runs once at startup or continuously while LI is on?

    this information is not correct.

there is no "premature" error measage.. this is BS.

IF cpu is *****ing about something, then something is wrong.

for a start try to recrimp your connectors (RJ) with ones provided in acc bag... this will give us a clue is it realy poor or bad ocnnectioin or other problem.

Since complete unit is sealed there should be no problem with gap on housing, but anyhow, if you keep getting error message after replacing RJ connectors, unit will be simple replaced on our cost.

I think a lense full of water woud seriously hurt performance. Water will make it's way into anything that isnt sealed. Thats just what water does.....Its a pain in the ass sometimes.

I dont think the insides getting damaged would be an issues since they are all sealed tight but water behind the lense would hurt performance. No question about it.

Id seal the edge of the lense with some black RTV silicone to make sure water doesnt get behind the lense.

Next thursday I'll re-crimp RJ connectors, then let's see what will go on....
Unfortunately, the issue is absolutely random so it will take some days to be sure that it's fixed.

Thanks a lot for saying this. I hope this will not be necessary because it's an hard work to remove the front bumper but, in case, I appreciate your kindness....

I am getting the same error message. I emailed Vedran and he told me to re crimp the connectors too. I did re crimp them and thought it solved the problem but it's back. Happens a few times every 2 days or so. I don't know what else to try. I assume you got it from Elvis? Maybe he got a bad batch.

also make sure if you are using a dual head unitr to plug sensors in plugs 1 and 2 and not 3 and 4...
