Default Ivan when will the sunlight on/off feature be released?

Ivan, I have heard about the sunlight interference issue that you were working on a fix for. Then just yesterday I heard from an inside source that there has been a fix for this issue which was included in a software download only available to LI personnel which allows an ON/OFF setting to turn off the sunlight interference notification.

I was also told that the fix was supposed to be released to the public "soon" which was 3 months ago.

Whats the latest on the release of the newest version, when will be be out?

I would rather all alerts to be configurable, for example:
    - Alert to sunlight interference?
    - Power-on welcome sequence, or alert only if there is a head error?
    - Specific gun ID on/off
    - Alert tone only or alert tone plus voice
    etc..

100% agreed. I think Ivan could do this, however they are not allowing the public the programing, just to do these simple tasks. =( It seems all companies that have came out with LJ's have stated that they will allow for USB hookup for upgrades/updates but I have not seen one yet follow through with their propaganda.

    just for the record:

    1) sun light interference is not an "issue" to be "fix". It is an optional alert for advance users who may appreciate knwoing such potential threat . It is not a "bug" to be fixed.

    2) ivan has to integrate together with the upgrade package and other setting softwares and make it user-friendly so that all users can perform the tast of changing setting and upgrading firmware. In addition, all these requires some type of encryption to prevente others to clone it. This is not an easy task so please be patient.

it is not allowed to do it yourself right now because it is not a "simple" task.

That's not what we where told in Arizona. It took Ivan about 30 seconds to turn it off.

Simple for Ivan does not equal simple for your average joe end user.

I build high performance gaming computers for a living and while it is true that for me, overclocking the machine is quite easy, would I let an end user do it without an idiot-proof interface? Hell no, it would cause endless problems and the customers would ***** to me about how it was my fault they screwed up their computers.

In an industry like this, you make damn sure it is idiot-proof before allowing people to mess with it. That takes time.

On a side note, I like my alert since it doesn't go off excessively. I like to know when my jamming performance isn't up to the best it can be so I can be more careful.

IMHO I would think that the update software is fairly much ready.

My opinion is that the concern for the LI team is making reverse engineering of the firmware as difficult as possible.

Considering the runour that the LI is already the subject of some intense reverse engineering effort, protecting the software side of the LI is a must for the developers.

soon.....as we were being told three months ago too.
    :P

why not ask Ivan publicly on the Rd.net, give him some "peer" pressure...
Why has he not replied and why are you telling us to be patient? As you said 3 months ago we were told there would be a fix soon. I hold no grudges against anyones word on here. All I ask is that if you say something that you back it up.

All the 2+ year members of the forum have seen companies say something and not follow through with it. Or we have seen companies promise something and not followed through with it. All of us on the forum would just like the honest truth to questions so we are not misled. If you need more time or can not come up with a fix at this time just say it, we will understand and give it more time.

If I remember corectly interceptor once said that you have to open CPU box and flip the jumper switch,to shut all audio warnings. It will only alert during LiDAR attack, but without gun ID message.

...like I said before,I am not 100% about this.
