    Default LI volume Q

I know with the LI it has a mute wire, but my question is can you adjust the volume?

Also if you place the control box say under the dash how hard is it to hear alerts?

There's a little notch you can get at with a small, flat head screwdriver. I believe you have to turn it clockwise.

Thats correct! On the CPU box, you need to use a tweeker flat head screw driver (like a jewelers screwdrivers). Turn it to the right to increase the volume. I did mine yesterday. It's loud enough to hear it. My CPU box is mounted underneath the drivers side dashboard.

Personally, I prefer the aux speaker I have wired to the LI instead of using the cpu's internal speaker.

I have the aux speaker hidden above a panel under the dash. In fact, that's where I have the cpu mounted as well.

Once you hear loud, super clear siren alerts and gun announcements over a wired aux speaker, I don't think you would ever go back to using the cpu's internal speaker.

How did you wire the aux speaker? does this speaker need power?

    Ed,

I've gotta give that a try. What Ohm speaker are you using? Can I use a Radio shack external speaker?

The 1" speaker inside the CPU of the LI is a 1 watt unit that can be by-passed in lieu of an external speaker. Simply remove the 4 screws located at the bottom of the CPU, remove the cover and tap into the speaker lugs to provide output for your externally supplied speaker!

or you can use those two blue wires to connect external speaker without opening the CPU
