I emailed this to Cliff (coincidentally similar to my regular forum screen name), but I figured I'd also get responses from the combined braintrust of this forum.
I am considering buying a Laser Interceptor for a medium blue BMW 3 series. I live in CA, so I would like to only have 3 jammers to avoid getting a misdemeanor if caught. I do not have a front license plate.
To protect both the front and back, which would you recommend?
1) Buy Laser Interceptor Quad, and only install one in the back.
2) Buy Laser Interceptor Dual, and buy an additional sensor for the back at $275.
3) Buy Laser Interceptor HP Dual, and install one on front, one on back.
4) Buy Laser Interceptor HP Dual (both front), and buy additional sensor for back.
Also, I will be picking up the vehicle in Spartanburg, SC and driving back to CA. I would like to be protected for my drive cross country. Can you recommend any installers near Spartanburg or in Atlanta, GA (where I will be stopping for a day or two).
Is there an effectiveness difference between the regular and slim rear ones?
Also, every rear install I see is painfully obvious. Won't that attract a cop's attention even more? Front grill installs on the 3 series appear to be a bit tougher to detect during a casual glance, but how can you make the rear one less obvious?
