Default Is there a reason to buy anything but the LI?

I read the most recent review from GOL. I have not had to time to fully study on all the particulars of jammers, but I got the impression that other than for cost, there is no reason to buy anything but the LI unit. I was disappointed to see that the Escort unit performed so poorly. I figured that will all their experience in building RD units they would also be on the top with their jammers - not the case.

So....... Is there anything new coming to market soon that one should wait for before making a purchase?

These units are stand alone and do not interface with the RD right? Just a speaker and switch in the dash? Guess you really don't need more but seems very basic.

That's a fair and accurate observation.

^ That's really the only "solid."

    ---

But to be absolutely fair, one has to mention that LI is still "gray market," but then again, so are AL and LPP, and even when that's concerned, Cliff has taken LI-USA to such a level of excellent customer service and warranty support that I simply don't sweat this issue, anymore.

Nevertheless, that cannot be denied or remain unsaid, if only to be fair to all parties (Blinder and Escort) involved.

    ---

What I've been telling everyone, for the last few weeks is simply that if they want the best, right now, and performance is their only concern, then the LI is the only way to go.

If they can wait a few more weeks (months?) for independent testing to confirm, then the Blinder Mx7 may well be worth the wait.

I completely agree. If you can wait a month or two for the Blinder m27 and m47 to be released, shipped and tested, it might just save you $600 and be perfect for street use, with the high expectations it's getting.

look everyone needs to stop saying that li is the best the blinder and blinder and li are tied for performance ok they can test all they want we did testing on the new blinder and lis mutplie li and some times the blinder did better than the li ok so its even ok i was not the only one who saw it but zr4 is nt a bad system eighter but blinder and li are at the top together side by side

I don't think anyone that has tested the new Blinder is saying that it is as good as the LI.

    This came from MEM-TEK:

Ya'all do know that we tested a production M47 at the recent Atlanta Jammerfest, don't you? Apparently Blinder thinks the world of Blinder Guy and they paid a boatload of shipping costs in order to get a production unit to him which he brought to the event. The new Blinder models have by far the best performance of any LED based jammer that I have seen tested, And they actually perform better than LI against some laser guns. Anyway, I am much more partial to light emitting diode (LED) jammer technology compared to coherent laser emitting diode (CLED) technology since, at present, CLEDs have to be heavily modulated with extremely short "on" times so that they don't burn up. Thus LED technology allows the manufacturers to add noise on top of the jamming algorithms so that laser guns will think that they are being pointed at a too distant target and so that it is less likely to throw error or jam codes on laser guns.

This is not to say that Blinder is better than LI but can perform at or better to LI performance in some instances....That quote was taken from this thread.

I think every jammer made has strong and weak points and one can perform as good as another under certain conditions.

The group tested a PRE-PRODUCTION, PRE-RETAIL VERSION!!!! No matter what they try to label it, it is not a retail version unless the average joe can buy one for himself the same day and time of the testing its not retail until its released for the masses!

Personally there are other options for laser jammers out there BUT you have to be willing to use passive counter measures and have a specific car.

Heck if someone with a C6 vette came here for advice Blinder M27(if the actual retail version performs) would be a decent set-up. But if a guy with a Nissan frontier with a chrome front end came here I would only recommend an LI.

BTWs having the money to buy a laser jammer and waiting for something better to come out costed me a laser ticket, $475. The price of a jammer was just $400. I was kicking myself for waiting

Well, I will believe it when I see it on a blindly purchased retail unit. Also, MEM-TEK's comment was regarding an M47, not M27. There's not much cost difference between an dual LI and an M47. In that case I would prefer to install two sensors instead of four.
