My LI jammed...something...

Just picked my car up from the shop for its annual inspection and put the winter wheels on. Shortly after pulling out onto a main drag in town the V1 sounded a laser alert, followed by the LI. I was like, whaaa!? I was in traffic and not speeding, and instinctively started braking, which caused my JTK-1 autokill to shut the LI off before it could announce what it detected. I looked around for a LEO but didn't see any. I didn't notice any Infinitis either, though one could have passed me by then.

After going to the bank, I went around for another pass, but nothing. No LEO, no alerts. Maybe a LCC equipped vehicle? Haven't had one set the LI off yet. Plus I didn't notice any Infinitis or Lexus SUVs at the time.

If I wasn't so quick on the brakes, the LI could have told me what it detected. Oh well. My first "jam" will forever be a mystery I guess.

My LI will go off when a car with HIDs is behind me sometimes... it depends on how close. But it doesn't happen very often.

I have owned the LI for 3 months now and it never falsed. My v1 false every other day.

+1 on aftermarket hids. Happened to me once or twice.

Trailblazers false my V1 (infact one did today). They can probably false an LI.

Probably not HIDs or a Trailblazer. This was daylight, and I've never had a laser false from HIDs on any of my detectors including V1.

Trailblazers cause falses from the 3rd brakelight which will set off my high-mounted V1 but I doubt it would set off a low-mounted LI. I wasn't behind one anyway.

I'm thinking it was something with laser cruise, since there was no sign of a LEO.

Guys, this happened to me today on the way to dropping off my kids to school about 7am. I was driving down the road in a 45 zone, mine suddenly goes off. I wasn't speeding either and I then went into scan mode with my eyes, saw nothing in the usual spots since I travel this route frequently. I then passed a van a half a block later and headed into a 35 and eventually passed a school bus in the lane next to me and I still saw nothing! I swear the alert said Traffipatrol XR or similar, not sure what so was very strange. BTW my 9500ix never alerted, no surprise really and all they use around here are PL III's.

I know from one persons personal experience that when the LI stats to go bad it will start alerting to random guns (non us guns mostly). Keep and eye on it because if it keeps doing it you will have to get them replaced.

languy99, that's good to know. For last few months I've been experiencing a bad sensor #1 error but have dismissed it due to it's infrequency. I've had email dialogue with Cliff on it and will continue to monitor and see if this happens again, 1st time for this one this morning. Thanks again for the heads up.

Every time I have got a Traffic Patrol XR warning an Inifniti SUV was close by. It also tips off my V1 and STI-R. Sunlight interference when there is none usually means a busted head.
