Default LI Install Seattle Area and MB GL450 advice...

    Looking for advice...

I want to get a LI but need to find a reliable installer in the Seattle area. I am looking for specific recommendations (not just go to a random Car Toys) as I want someone who can do a stealthy, solid install without tearing up the car at a reasonable price. It is hard to find a good installer who will install stuff they don't sell.

Also, we want to install the LI on a GL450. Looking for pictures or suggestions on the best front and rear install and any interior modifications. I am trying to avoid having "warts" (interceptro heads) sticking out of the car if possible.

My previous jammer on my old car was an escort ZR4 which we hid very well on a LIncoln navigator (the rear jammer was a license plate attachment and the fronts were on the tow hooks). The LI being individual heads appears more complicated to install on the rear. One though I had was to get a bracket built so they could be mounted off the rear license plate (a mounting bar that would put the heads just beyond the left and right edge of the top of the license plate) but I am unsure they would be too close together to be effective.

    Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Remember stealth the ride not the install.

You were risking it with a zr4 on a Navigator. Zr4's are very weak jammers, especially the rear one. The testers on here say its useless. The LI being individual heads appears more complicated to install on the rear. I believe you want the LI heads at least 15 to 27 inches apart.

    Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

The 19 hours was not Cartoys it was Benchmark auto at 150/hr something like that. Cartoys I believe is like a BestBuy so the quality of work is probably so so at best, plus they prob do not do real custom work.

Benchmark quoted me 19 hours (included a 4-head LI and an STi-R), @$125/hr because they didn't sell the equipment. They do high-end cars, tooo high for me actually.

I'm having Jeremy at speakerlab do my install next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

I do agree, I wouldn't take my pretty nice car to Car Toys for this particular install. They did an okay job on a Sirius hard-wire and some speaker upgrades in my F350. But the experience level is mixed to short on many of those guys, and they're in a production mode, from my observation. I want more care (and experience) than I'd get at the Car Toys near me.

I highly recommend Jeremy Johnson at SpeakerLab in Seattle (Roosevelt District, 206.523.2269. He just completed installation of an LI Quad and an STi-R on my 2008 BMW 550i, perfect! See my separate post here: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...-bmw-550i.html

    Give Jeremy a call!
