When did LI GEN8 become available?
Is GEN8 the most current?
How can I tell if I have them?
What is the HP head and how does it differ?

"I'm interested to see how well you do.I never seen a car JTG before would be a first for me.."
The actual difference is that the HP heads each have two (2) laser diodes in them, instead of just one. One diode is horizontally polarised and the other is vertically polarised. In a regular head, the single diode is horizontally polarised.
It isn't only large trucks that this can benefit. There are many smaller cars that simply have no really good mounting options, like BMWs. In those cases, dual polarisation makes a huge difference in coverage, and can prevent you from having to cut your grille and/or use Veil.
Gen 8 is all that's being sold now, so if you buy it now, you get Gen 8. If you have already bought it, the heads should say. If they don't, call Cliff and ask him what version you have. They keep records of every unit.
Thanks Cliff ! I recall there being two styles of heads, a slim variety and a larger one, which I have. Are the large ones the HP heads?
For the life of me I cannot find the recipt and there is nothing on the heads except a bar code and a sequence number.
I have installed a single head on the rear of the Vette 13 inches above the plate. There is not much else on the rear of a black Vette to shoot at. When I am done with the install, I'll post a couple of pix.
Yes, the slim sensor is the HP, as you requested.

FYI: It is much harder to protect the rear.... The problem will be reception not transmission.... I would pick up an extra head for the rear.
Also keep in mind you can use a video camera and a remote control to get the units to fire to see the laser diode(s) in the heads
