Default LI slim heads vs normal

Are the slim LI heads less powerful than the normal LI heads? I assume they are not, otherwise why not make them all slim?

I ordered a dual head LI a couple of weeks back from the official site and was sent 2 slim heads. Its going to protect the largest vehicle there is (F250) and I need to know I was sent the most powerful of the two.

The slim heads are the same amount of power as the normal heads, but are more optimized for rear usage (I'm guessing it has a wider beam spread or something, to allow for the shorter-range and wider-angle shots that are common in rear ambushes).

So, normal heads in front and slim heads in rear will give you the best all-around performance.

Thanks. I'm contacting LI and will be asking them to replace them with normal heads. I didn't order a rear jammer system.... I ordered a 2 head system to protect a large vehicle from frontal lidar, not to protect the back. Hope LI is stand up about handling this.

The reduced depth of the slim heads creates a simple optical effect.

Having the lens bubble closer to the receiver means it has a wider view but with reduced range, like bridnging a magnifying glass closer to your eye.

The normal heads have a narrower field of view, but with a longer range.

Their power output is the same, just their fields of reception are different.

I have no doubt Cliff will look after you.

On the interstates around the large metro areas here, in good weather , you often see WSP on freeway overpasses, higher up on on ramps, etc., with lidar shots at the back of vehicles they can see are exceeding, hence the importance of rear protection, with transponders that have a wider field and expecting a closer-ranged ping. At least here, it seems like you're rolling the dice with just front protection. If you're only concerned about the more rural regions, maybe front-only protection is fine.

Ok, talked to Cliff. Since the 8 series the performance is the same for both and the larger heads have been discontinued since March 10. The performance from version 8.x on has been enhanced on the slim heads. So... things are good. Hope to have test results in the near future.

So the LI slim has the performance of the LI regular with a super wide field of vision?
    Nice work Ivan/Cliff.

The slim heads we have tested on the Moac always seemed to perform better in my opinion.
