    Default LI CPU Box Power

    Hi folks,

I've been trying to troubleshoot an LI Quad setup connected w/ the Cheetah Wireless Fitting Kit. Today, I did the simple step of hooking up the power wires coming out of the LI CPU box to the car battery terminals --- no cheetah wireless kit in between. Upon starting the car up, there was no welcome message from the box speaker (even though the volume screw was cranked to the max and I checked that the jumpers inside were set to internal) and the unit did not make any noise when I put my hand in front of either front laser.

Anyone run into this before? Do I have a broken CPU box?

    Quick update, folks:

I believe I get "Dummy of the Year" Award ---- it took emails to the great reps at both LI and Cheetah to get to the bottom of this problem............guess what I left out of the wiring for the LI box? The switch!!!! LOL I completely overlooked the fact that the switch was needed for the install, even with the Cheetah Wireless Kit installed. WOW --- that was terrible 8-)

So in case any of you fellow ECE grads out there think the rules have changed (like I did this week), you still do need a closed switch to complete a circuit. Open switch just "ain't gonna cut it"

Thanks again to LI and Cheetah for helping me w/ this problem --- man it's going to take a few days to get over this embarrassment, LOL.

I did the SAME thing. Connected the heads to the CPU, connected the power to the CPU, and voila, No Welcome message. I emailed Cliff, and he called me back immediately, and asked if I connected the power switch, DUH! - Cockpit error!

Amazing how electricity works better with a path! More, excellent customer service from Cliff and Laser Interceptor, and the install continued.

    Thanks again Cliff!
