    Default Upgrade cpu?

I bought a used LI quad. It has the cpu version 7 and I'm seriously considering upgrading to 8. I talked to cliff at LI and he said I should upgrade now and it is $200.
Has anyone tested ver. 7 against 8? What are the main differences?

i upgraded mine from 7 to 8. you can update the CPU easier, the jamming alert is different. it just says the Gun name, it doesn't say "please slow down" it's supposed to give the heads more jamming power, and wider radius.

alright, thanks. I wasnt expecting it to be $200, so Im going to have to wait a month or 2 (me and my roommates had a huge water leak in our house and the water bill was over $300 this month)

This is what cliff sent me when i was talking to him about updating my CPU.

The Gen. 8 CPU gives you:

1- Free User Downloadable Firmware Updates
    2- More Jamming Power
    3- Wider Reception angle
    4- Faster processing

I'm waiting for the new generation of lidar guns to hit the market before I upgrade my Gen7 to Gen8 just in case.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking about. Ill wait a few months and see how things go before I update.

That sounds good about the new upgrades with the generic wire. But how does a cpu determine the power of the heads?

Just a guess but I am thinking that some of these benefits require the purchase of the latest heads, specifically item numbers 2 and 3.
