So the Poliscan i drove past 4 times today was outside a lot of shops and units in a semi industrial area. So i parked in the car park outside one of the shops, got out and started walking toward the unit. The guy was sitting in his car asleep! So i got to have a good look at the unit and its angle to the road. Its made up of two separate units, the speed gun and the camera/flash.
From the vantage point i had, there was no doubt that the camera/flash (one unit) was at an angle of (or very close to) 45 degrees to the road. The speed gun side was more straight on to the oncoming traffic. The older multanova was set at an angle of 22 degrees to the oncoming traffic and i am sure the speed gun side of the Poliscan is the same angle or very close to it.
I am not sure if this was set up to cover all 4 lanes of traffic (2 lanes oncoming and 2 lanes driving away) or just the two 2 oncoming lanes, but the speed gun it uses was definitely about the 20-30 degree mark to the road.
If this is the case, i hope my rear facing heads at 45 degrees work.
