Is there an update?
I purchased my LI in Nov of 2010. I believe it is version 8.8?
On the website i see......
* Generation 8 (V.2.60 01/11) Communicator with LIVE UPDATES - Download Now
Update Status: 02/11 - None presently needed.
Does this mean there is an update for my LI? If so, is it necesssary and what does it do?

If the LI website says there isn't an update, then there isn't an update. It isn't lying to you

Yes, I understand as of 2/11 there is no update needed. Was there an update on 1/11?

Dude, you need to update it with the new Blinder Software. Remember, this will only work if you do this while being naked outside when the temperature is less that 57.8 degrees F after you call 911 telling them some naked guy is trying to steal your car.
