After 4 years of service and roughly 40 saves (a lot of highway driving in sparse traffic), my LPP is dead (water penetration of heads)
I originally bough a LPP Dual 4 years ago, 1 head died last year at which point I converted my installation to a single head LPP, now the other head is dead.
I have decided to replace it with a LI Dual due to this forum members reviews, GOL tests and videos of its effectiveness. Also, the great reviews that Cliff from LI USA has gotten for great customer service, very impressed with that.
One question however about the LI & LPP, both diode based: The LI, from what I read here on the board, needs 2 heads to be effective, where as a single head LPP was able to deliver JTG performance at CM, and under 100' PT at H.L. (on my full-sized sedan)
Is there a stategic reason for mandatory 2 heads with the LI? Would a single LI deliver the same performance as a single LPP? Just curious, I like to understand my countermeasures.
I will be installing and testing the LI tomorrow.
